Deloitte Digital - Systems Administrator / DevOps

We are looking for a smart and ambitious Systems Administrator / DevOps to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for keeping all our different systems components running at an optimal efficiency and will be working with experienced developers and account managers in a challenging, stimulating and expanding environment. 

You are expected to work independently and in a timely manner across a variety of project engagements. You will also handle and, if required, escalate customer incidents and requests as appropriate so as to exceed customers' expectations on a 24x7 basis.

Key activities / Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of all networks and services in a 24x7 operation to ensure high availability and attainment of service levels.
  • 1st line support for all infrastructure across PROD, TEST and DEV environments.
  • Provide first level support and troubleshooting on all systems.
  • Responsible for the resolution of hardware issues, deployment of new systems, reinstallation of operating systems as required, as well as ad-hoc support requests, including liaising with co-location customers.
  • Maintain and follow procedures, documentation and equipment records.
  • Handling of Mac, PC and laptops (hardware and software wise)
  • Continuous monitoring and analysis of security alerts, audi logs and reports.
  • Maintaining systems up-to-date through scheduled patching and upgrades.

Technical / Professional Expertis

The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, CISCO, Linux Technologies, Cloud Platforms and assiciated security risks are essential.
  • Must display strong organisational and excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Effective documentation skills: able to document operational requirements and processes.
  • Previously worked with IIS, .NET, database engines (including but not limited to MS SQL Server and MySQL) and LAMP servers.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Must be a team player and ready to work under pressure without supervision.
  • Proven experience within an IT operational / support role (e.g. network, server environments and methodologies; technical service support)
  • Ideally in posession of an ICT qualification, such as:
    • Bachelor's degree in an ICT/networking related field.
    • MCAST advanced diploma in IT (computer systems and networks)
  • Professional certifications in Networking and Server Administration will be considered as an asset.

Deloitte Digital - Backend .NET Developer

Deloitte Malta is currently seeking to recruit a Backend .NET Developer, to join its Consulting practice. The ideal candidate will be mainly responsible for the development and integration of various applications including websites, web applications, mobile applications and core backend systems. Candidates will preferably be in possession of a first degree in IT from a recognised university, or in possession of similar certifications, with previous experience in the software development field.

A self-starter by nature, the selected candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a team and must also be an effective communicator in written English and preferably also in Maltese.

Responsibilities:

  • Meeting clients to understand business and technical requirements for various IT projects
  • Collaborating with other team members and the development team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Working in a team or individually to develop and implement web and mobile applications on time
  • Liaising with third party technical teams to integrate with other systems
  • Testing of individually developed components to ensure a high level of quality
  • Deployment of applications on web servers, configurations and updates
  • Writing of reusable components
  • Staying up to date with emerging technologies and development trends

Required skills and competencies:

The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas:

  • Microsoft .NET technologies using C# or VB.NET
  • Web Service Technologies - WCF, Web APIs, SOAP, REST, XML and JSON and experienced in both the development and consumption of web services
  • Database Technologies - MS SQL Server, T-SQL, PL/SQL including the use of stored procedures, views and functions
  • Web Application Technologies - ASP.NET - Web Forms and/or MVC
  • Server Technologies - Windows Applications, Windows Services & Console Applications

Additional knowledge or experience of tools and techniques such as AngularJS and similar, Cordova, Ionic, SVG animations and Adobe Creative Suite would be considered an asset.

Candidates with previous experience in web design and mobile design should also submit a copy of their portfolio in addition to their CV.

Desktop Support Administrator

As a Desktop Support Administrator you will be responsible to research and test the latest end user hardware including: laptops, desktops and accessories.

In this position you will form part of a team that architects, engineers and manages desktop solutions for Deloitte both locally and internationally. The focus is to deliver solutions with minimal impact on end users and solutions that support our goal of technology leadership.

The focus:

  • Provide input for input for image creation and test desktop platform images, evaluate new and emerging hardware, recommend hardware standards, and assist in building and deploying operating system platforms.
  • Work alongside other team members to architect/manage desktop management platforms for systems management, imaging, antivirus, desktop aback up and encryption reporting.  This includes collaboration with various other groups across the network both locally and internationally as well as the management of vendor relationships for proper delivery and support.

The Role

  • Maintain and consistently demonstrate general knowledge of company guidelines, processes, practices and procedures.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of all operating systems and software in order to provide a high degree of quality support.
  • Deal with queries by following procedures for Incident resolutions, Change Management, Problem Handling.
  • You will also be responsible for recommending equipment that best suits the needs of client service professionals.
  • The role also requires regular interaction and supplier relationship managements with major OEMs bands with as HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and Apple, as well as regular collaboration with field technicians in testing and troubleshooting various activities.

  • Manage, support and troubleshoot printing devices and peripheral equipment,
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on laptops, printers and any other equipment,
  • Execute remedial activities on laptops, printers and any other peripheral equipment.
  • Performs work in compliance within specific Technology, Security and IT Operational policies and procedures and associated business requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors such as in returning defective or damaged equipment as well as support inventory and asset management by documenting repair requirements and tracking assignments and stock movements.
  • Monitor, operate, manage and troubleshoot assets and services with authorized access to the network.
  • As Desktop Support Administrator you will be familiar with those incidents that you will be required to escalate to other members in local or international teams.
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers and administrative systems.
  • Diagnose and quickly resolve a wide range of Windows applications and networking problems to help minimise downtime.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity in a LAN/WAN environment.
  • Requesting and coordinating suppliers and maintenance contractor support.
  • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Enterprise Applications hosted on Windows Servers 2012/2012R/2016;
  • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Enterprise Applications running on Remote Desktop Services;
  • Dealing with hardware and application support queries and issues reported to the support des and escalated to the Desktop Support Administrator.
  • Provide user data and application recovery.
  • Email account administration, i.e account creation and management and distribution lists on Exchange.
  • User account administration, i.e account creation and management and password resets on Active Directory.
  • Use Diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation hardware/software.
  • Use tools and methodologies to load, copy and customise operating system configurations for deployment.
  • Works with vendors to resolve technical issues within the desktop environment.
  • Develop sound understanding  of IT operations and related applications and IT systems as well as business related processes and procedures.
